HIMGA Board
May 5, 2023
The HIMGA Board meeting was called to order by President Jack Deaton with the
following members present: Jack Deaton, Ed Clark, Dave Moon, Fred Neely, Terry
Bushay, and David Baker. Also present were Bruce Hanna and Randy Tabler.
The Minutes from the May meeting were read. MOTION: by Terry, seconded by Dave
to approve the minutes. Approved.
The Finance Report was given by Ed. Beginning balance was $6,739.45. Deposit of
$865.00. Expenses for golf balls and Spring Breakfast were $623.00 and $798.00,
respectively. We received $0.26 in interest. The current balance is $6,183.71.
The Credit Account is $432.82, for a total balance of $6,616.53. MOTION: by
Dave, seconded by Fred, to approve the report. Approved.
Shoot Out: The payout for two groups (lower handicaps and higher handicaps) will
be $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd.
Each player will receive a sleeve of golf balls when eliminated. The total
payout for the two groups will be $350. Randy will need two scorers for each
group with flaggers. Flat ball markers will be given to each player. Tape
measure will be used to determine closest to the pin for putt offs. May be as
many as 20 players. Jack, Terry and Randy will check on the items needed in
Ernie’s shed.
There was discussion about raising the weekly fees because of fewer members
playing each week. No decision was made.
The 9-Hole Tournament is scheduled for June 17th. This will be a 1
man scramble. Registration forms are at both courses. Checks should be made out
to HIMGA.
Since July 4th is on Tuesday, there was discussion about canceling
that day. The decision was to continue as scheduled. We will play on July 4th
as usual.
Ed introduced Bruce Hanna. He has a background in website work. He and Ed will
be working on the website in the future. They plan to add text and email
notification to the system.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
